Universities are key actors in tackling the climate crisis – not only through research and teaching, but also through their Third Mission: engaging with society, politics and practice. The workshop “Transdisciplinary & Participatory Climate Research – Practice-oriented training for impactful collaboration” shows how to turn climate research into collaborative action with real-world impact.
Participants will explore how to:
- Set up transdisciplinary climate projects – from proposal to implementation
- Design participatory formats where people genuinely want to contribute
- Host meaningful conversations that lead to innovative ideas and concrete outcomes
- Use process design and participatory methods – including Art of Hosting – tailored to their own projects
The workshop is designed as a hands-on training: you are invited to bring your own challenge – such as a planned project, workshop or symposium – and work on it throughout the day. You will receive feedback on your specific questions and leave with clearer next steps and a more robust process design.
Please register by 12 November 2026 here.
The workshop is organized by the Transdisciplinary Research Group of Practice in collaboration with the Field of Excellence Climate Change Graz.
