Environmental sociology, with its focus on environmental behavior and attitudes through survey research, is an excellent complement to the current research topics in Climate Change Graz. The environmental sociologists of our research group focus on environmental behaviors and attitudes and examine the effects of global and national forces on individual environmental and climate-related behaviors using survey data. Markus Hadler is also the Austrian representative of the International Social Survey Programme, a group of researchers from 48 countries who regularly conduct representative population surveys. As head of the Center for Social Research, he offers support in the planning and implementation of surveys with an environmental focus.
